Garden Patio Furniture Will Help You Create A Perfect Outdoor Garden Area
There is almost no chance of disappointment if you are looking for garden patio furniture because of the many options and styles available. You will find styles that will blend perfectly with your backyard and other styles that designed to be the focal point of your yard and really stand out. Regardless of the furniture you choose, garden patio furniture sets can be the highlight of your backyard paradise for many years.
When selecting the type and color of furniture you want, you should choose a style of furniture that will last for a long time. In other words, be sure the material you select is durable and able to withstand a variety of weather conditions.
If you don’t consider this factor during your shopping experience, there’s a good chance that you’ll be buying a new garden patio furniture set sooner than you expect.
The following list describes the most popular kinds of materials to choose from when looking for the perfect patio furniture set:
OAK PATIO FURNITURE
Oak is a very popular choice for garden patio furniture. It is found in most Western areas of the world, and since it is hardwood it can withstand certain weather conditions. It does, however, have to be treated in order to be protected. So, as long as you maintain the condition of the wood then it will be very enjoyable for your garden patio for years to come.
The one downside to oak patio furniture is its cost. It is definitely not cheap. However, you should consider that if you invest in this kind of furniture it will last for twenty years or more. When you consider the fact that cheap furniture will not last, it becomes obvious that oak is a good investment.
CEDAR PATIO FURNITURE SETS
If you want garden patio furniture that is very moisture resistant, even more than oak, cedar is the best choice. Cedar produces oils to protect itself against decay and rot. The smell of cedar is very pleasant, adding a nice touch to your outdoor space.
Cedar patio furniture is offered in many styles. Some styles are more rustic than others, using large logs in the furniture’s overall makeup. Other styles are modern with planed pieces or flat woods. If you have concerns about weather conditions harming the natural beauty of the woods, a clear coat finish can be applied.
Not only will a clear coat protect the wood, but it will also bring out the beauty and natural markings of the wood. Depending on your personal preference, the wood can be stained in different colors or shades.
TEAK OUTDOOR FURNITURE
Teal is another type of wood that resists a variety of weather conditions. For garden patio furniture it is an excellent choice because of its natural look that blends nicely with its surroundings. Teak is grown mainly in Thailand and Bangladesh.
Some of these trees grow to 40 feet in height. The oil in teak wood resists termites and helps to maintain the wood’s durability even when protective sealant is not applied. Teak wood starts with a honey hue, but takes on a grayish tint as it ages.
Garden Ornaments – An Effective Way To Modernize Gardens
Decorating lawn or lawn accessories can turn garden to a place where real paradise can be felt. Best plants need to be chosen for use in garden in order to make it stunning. If the garden is very formal and looks very ordinary, garden statuary should be considered that is appropriate. The garden ornaments and accessories set the looks of the garden. Professional help really works to improve the beauty of the garden and to add the vibrant touch to it. Some people want to set the theme of the garden, for which professional help is the best. They help to choose the perfect lawn and garden ornamentsaccording to the theme of the garden. Gardens have a relaxing effect and can fill anyone with positive energy.
Some gardeners prefer their concrete garden ornaments to have an aged look, even from new. This latter effect can be achieved, using the following process: adding 4 dessert spoons of PVA glue to half a liter (1 pint) of clean, cold water, adding a little black emulsion (external use) to a quarter liter (half a pint) of clean, cold water, allowing the surface to dry once more, and stirring one dessert spoon of PVA glue in 5 fluid ounces (150ml) of clean, cold water.
Wind chimes can add a pleasant little touch to an outdoor area. The gentle music they make when the wind hits them just right is very melodic. The sounds produced by wind chimes vary, based on the design and the type of material that makes up the chimes. Wind chimes are often made of metal. They may be aluminum or some other composite. Like a musical instrument, the chimes are manufactured so they produce a pleasant sound when they are disturbed. They can also be made of other materials like bamboo or thin hollow reeds. Depending upon the material used and the circumference and length of each piece of the chime, a sound raising from a high pitch to a bass-like tone is obtained.

Garden Magick – Transform A Difficult Garden Into A Sacred
Garden Magick – Transform A Difficult Garden Into A Sacred Resort For The Soul
Are you establishing a new garden? Are you trying to bring a long neglected or difficult garden back to life again? You can create a flourishing garden anywhere. All you need is loads of desire, a little imagination and an open mind. In this article I briefly summarize some techniques that I have successfully used for encouraging growth in difficult areas of the garden. By adding a little magick to some basic ecological gardening principles your can create a sensation.
There are a few essential requirements for a healthy garden. These are: soil with the correct texture, nutrient levels, and drainage; water; sunlight and the appropriate plant choice for your local environment. Garden bed preparation is of utmost importance and you would be well advised to ensure that you have provided your plants with the best physical environment possible for their successful growth. But getting the physical environment right is just the first step. To get the best out of your garden you should provide a happy environment, full of positive energy and a little magick.
Visualize
When you first start planting out your garden it doesn’t look much like it will in two, three, five or ten years. Visualization is a crucial part of the garden design and planning process. It is also important for the growing process. To keep your garden growing in the direction would like it to grow, you should visualize regularly. This is just a matter of looking at the garden and imagining what it will look like when your plants are fully grown. In doing so you are mentally sending your plants messages and encouragement. Make a habit of visualizing your garden on a daily basis and imagine it as it will look in, say, five years of constant and healthy growth.
In the meantime … fake it
While you are in the early stages of garden creation, try making a ‘fake it ‘til you make it’ garden. This simply means creating an interim garden. You can do this by placing pots filled with colorful plants around the area. This will give you some instant gratification for your efforts. It will also give your new plants some company. After all, plants are communal and are not meant to grow alone.
You can quickly and easily create new pot plants by taking cuttings from other plants in your garden or your existing pot plants. Put the cuttings in water until they sprout roots – some won’t grow roots this way, it will be trial and error but many will grow roots within a week. Alternatively, buy some plants, preferably colorful flowering plants. Of course, choose appropriate plants for the location of your garden – shade loving plants for areas with little sun, etc.
Place the pots around the area where you want the garden to be and in between the plants that you have recently planted. If the garden is located in a harsh landscape that is subject to extreme hot or cold or strong winds, you can place the pots so that young plants are protected from harsh winds or direct sunlight. If your environment is particularly harsh, you may consider adding small screens made from bamboo or other natural materials to protect young plants until they establish. In a dark or very shaded area, ensure that your pots will not block any sunlight that your seedlings may be receiving. Whatever the nature of your garden, use plenty of mulch to keep the moisture in the soil and the weed growth to a minimum.
Attract Native Animals
Life attracts life, so by attracting as many animals to your garden as possible you will increase the life energy of your garden which will help your plants to grow. Place rocks and logs in your garden to provide shelter and homes for small lizards and insects. If you do not have any tall trees, installing a pole that a bird can perch atop (but a cat can’t climb) is a great idea, as birds will contribute seed laden droppings that can bring additional plants to your garden as well as additional nutrients. Show your delight when you notice a new native occupant and let him know he is welcome.
Allow the ecology of your garden to evolve along with the growth and addition of your plants and other components. Resist interfering by killing particular animals that you don’t like such as spiders, if you are so inclined. Instead, become curious and learn about them. Talk to them. You will gain an entirely new appreciation for these animals and improve your karma at the same time.
Avoid Using Poisons
Garden shops are full of garden poisons. It’s big business. It would be easy to assume that weed killers, snail killers and the other exterminators are an essential component to gardening. However, the reality is that they are really bad for your plants and the animals that add value to your garden. There is almost always a natural or more gentle alternative to using poisons in the home garden. It is far more effective in the long term to pull weeds out by hand and you will save a lot of money.
Decorate and Communicate
Celebrate your garden area by decorating it with beautiful things, such as hanging pots, statues, bird baths, sculptures and low lighting, will add positive energy and atmosphere. If possible, include an outdoor table and chairs and spend some time there entertaining friends, laughing and having a good time, or just be there on your own relaxing and smiling upon your garden. Make sure you remove or disguise any ugly or unsightly objects. It is important to keep the area beautiful as you are more likely to spend time in, and give loving energy to, a garden that you like the look of and feel good about.
Take a leaf out of Grandma’s Book
Did your Grandmother speak to her plants? Mine did, and that practice was passed down to my mother and now I do it. It works! You don’t need to spend a lot of time in conversation with your flowers. Simply walk around and admire your plants for a few minutes most days. In the difficult spots, stop and talk to those plants that are struggling. Express pleasure when you see some growth. Smile at your plants and talk to them in a light manner as you are attending to their needs.
Crystals for Positive Energy
Use crystals and semi precious stones to add some beneficial energy to the area. Here are some ideas:
Agate
This crystal is known for its ability to produce abundance and increase yields in crops. It can be used to enhance the health of your pot plants or your garden plants.
Jade
Jade represents life and growth and has been associated with the health of plants and the environment. Place jade statues in the garden or use jade in a decoration that hangs above or nearby your plants.
Moonstone
Moonstone helps to enhance the growth and health of plants. Use it in decoration in your garden or wear it when attending to your plants.
Clear Quartz Crystal
Quartz crystal will amplify and enhance the qualities of any other stone and can be used to achieve any goal of pure intention. Use it alongside the other stones or alone in your garden to enhance plant growth. I hang crystals over pot plants to improve their performance.
These are examples of stones and crystals that have specific qualities that can assist plant recovery and growth. However, there are many crystals and stones that have healing and nurturing properties so it may pay to experiment. Crystals can be placed in pots, used as a display on a table, in a bird bath or water feature. They are particularly beautiful when they form part of a hanging decoration.
Add a Little Fairy Magick
Fairies have long been associated with gardens. Flower fairies were thought to live in the flowers of plants. They looked after the plant by ensuring it had everything it needed. You can add your own bit of fairy magick to your garden by placing a hanging fairy near the garden that you want to prosper from this energy.
If fairies are not your thing, hang or place sculptures of other powerful symbols around the area, such as the Sun for positive energy and the Moon for receptivity and supernatural powers. Both of these symbols together represent balance and harmony. There are many other symbols of good fortune such as Buddha that will enhance the energy and the feel of your garden. These symbols and bearers of good energy also look great.
Feng Shui Garden
Designing your garden for good Feng Shui
The Feng Shui garden is designed to allow Chi to flow. To create good Feng Shui, design your garden with plenty of curves. If you have a garden with very straight edges, add features that give the impression of curves. You can achieve this by the way you place your garden features and how you locate your plants. Choose rounded pots and curvy furniture to increase the positive Feng Shui in your garden.
Windchime Magick
Another way to increase Chi in your garden is by hanging a windchime or a windchime bell. Windchimes aid in the flow of Chi and add an additional element to your garden through sound. The right windchime can create a sensation of peace through its harmonic tunes. It is worthwhile selecting a well made bell or windchime that you enjoy listening to as this will make a valuable addition to the atmosphere of your home and give you joy every time the breeze blows.
Water Features
A water feature is also extremely beneficial in the creation of a positive Feng Shui garden. The water must be flowing, however, so that Chi can flow and so that it does not become stagnant. The addition of fish to your water feature will provide more positive energy due to the additional life. Be sure to find fish that do not eat the spawn of local frogs. Gold fish, which originated in China, have become an environmental nuisance in some countries and they will eat frogspawn. For frog friendly fish, check with your Government Fisheries Department.
Frog Magick
Frogs represent good luck in many cultures around the world. The first frogs hopped this earth alongside the Dinosaurs. They are wise beings, worthy of respect and they will bring good energy to your garden. Be sure to locate any pond a good distance from bedroom windows, however, as frogs can croak up a storm at night.
Scent
A wonderful way for a garden to enrich your life is through scent. You can create a special atmosphere by planting the shrubs, trees and flowers in your garden that provide certain scents that enhance particular moods. Add some instant inspiration by filling your pots with lavender, jasmine, geranium, lemongrass or whatever your nose desires.
Burn incenses outside or light a scented candle at night while sitting in the garden. Select the scent that will be most beneficial for your garden’s growth. Try gardenia or lavender for love and healing, ginger for success, patchouli or rosemary for love and growth, the invigorating benefits of sweet orange or frankincense and myrrh for healing and growth.
A closing thought ..
Your garden reflects the relationship it shares with you and the other inhabitants of your home. By increasing the positive loving energy in your garden you will create a place for growth and harmony, a place where life will thrive. In return you will receive much enjoyment. By combining good ecological concepts with a little magick you can turn a difficult garden into a sacred resort for the soul.
Garden Lighting Light Up Your Life Inside & Out
With spring in the air, we are all itching to get outdoors. Sadly, though, the night comes too quickly, before we’ve even had a chance to enjoy our outdoor living area. Many of us put in a lot of effort into the landscape, gardens and patios surrounding our homes, and we deserve to take full advantage of these areas. Home outdoor lighting is possibly the best way to extend your outdoor experience into the wee hours of the night. Here are five fantastic ways to use garden lighting to your advantage.
Up High: Outdoor structures, enclosures and gazebos all need home outdoor lighting to make them work once it gets dark. Fortunately, outdoor ceiling fixtures abound in styles you are going to love. These span the spectrum from elegant and classic gothic pieces to modern and tastefully trendy. Use post lanterns to illuminate and decorate a large area all at once. Oh, and let’s not forget the slice of heaven called outdoor ceiling fans. Words cannot describe the blissful calm that falls over you as a soft breeze surrounds you on a warm summer day or night.
Down Low: Landscape lighting or specialty lighting can alleviate annoyances as well as illuminate nature’s beauty. Use path lighting, deck lighting and in-stairs lighting to light up a walking path, staircase or corridor so that coming home in the dark doesn’t end in disaster. You can also use decorative garden lighting such as in-ground, underwater and fountain lights to make a beautiful setup really come alive. Novelty fixtures shaped like gravel, stone, rustic shading and more can blend into the surrounding nature for an even more magical effect.
To the Side: Use your walls to your lighting advantage with wall sconces. Homeowners love this option for several reasons. To start with, wall sconces are up on the wall, so they illuminate a larger area than fixtures that are lower down to the ground. Because they’re mounted to the wall, however, sconces won’t take up room or get in the way. What’s more, this garden lighting option comes with hundreds of styles and designs so you can really express your individuality and your taste with these fixtures.
Nice and Slow: Finally, torches can be used on a number of occasions. Outdoor parties will be an instant success with these mood-setting luminaries scattered around your porch or pool area. Use both lighting oil and candles to keep the party going longer. Alternatively, candlelit torches make for a most romantic evening for two. So the next time you want some special time with the one you love, set up for some solace under the stars.
These are just a few of the ways that garden lighting can enhance your outdoor living area. After a long and cold winter, we all want to break free and move around. With the warmer months finally here, don’t limit yourself to four walls. Get outside and make the most of your home, inside and out.
Garden Lighting Is A Necessity
Lighting up your garden is not something that falls under a luxurious hobby that people only indulge in to impress the neighbors and friends. Garden lighting is basically a necessity more than a fashionable hobby or a passion.
Imagine how inconvenient and boring it can get to organize a graduation party that you need to wind up before the sun goes down, only because you garden is not properly lit. Forget about parties, can you even stroll in your garden in a breezy summer night without lighting, or sip on a strong espresso to enjoy winters in a dark garden? Without lighting, your garden can look dreary and instead of giving respite, it will scare you.
Garden lighting is immensely useful in a number of different ways. The first, being its use in allaying your fear to stroll in a dark, and gloomy garden. Then properly lit garden can encourage you to arrange different family and friends dinner parties and late-night get-togethers. This will eventually help you enjoy more with your near and dear ones and collect some memories along the way that you will love cherishing throughout your life. Other than this, the garden lighting can actually lease a new life to your dark and dreary garden, provided they are installed at the right locations. Creating a wonderful atmosphere in your garden does not imply that you need to install big bright bulbs all around. Bright and sharp lights can only serve to irritate your guests as well as neighbors, but will never provide a soothing atmosphere, a beautiful evening party demands.
There are a number of different types and designs of garden lights available in the market. Before going for shopping, see if there are separate portions in your garden for sitting and cooking, etc or not. If yes, then you may need to provide extra lighting to that area rather than using the same dim lights as in the rest of the garden area. Afterwards, you should know that the most usual type of garden lighting is the down lighting that can be used anywhere in the garden. Nevertheless, if you have a pond or fountain in your garden as well, you should always think about installing the underwater or spotlights. In addition, you need to highlight the walkways and sidewalks, as it gives further definition to your garden. However, whatever type of lights you use, make sure they are soft and low-voltage lights.
Prices of garden lighting vary widely; nevertheless, it is not expensive at all. To get an even more cheap deal, you can use solar lights. They are available in various attractive designs.
Garden Lighting – 4 Major Advantages Of Garden Lights In
Garden Lighting – 4 Major Advantages Of Garden Lights In Your Yard
Warding off prowlers
For the very same reason that campers need to keep their fire kindled throughout the night, you ought to have a lighting system installed in your garden. Light keeps away creatures of the dark. That category includes both animals and humans who are out to no good; entities that like to do their business at night when no one is watching. And nothing keeps them away better – deters them from doing mischief – than a well-lit lawn and garden.
Camouflaging the interior of the house
If you have a well-lit garden, people passing by at night will not be able to make out the interior of your dimly lit house easily. Even if you habitually leave some low-powered night lights at strategic points in your house (near the light switches, for instance), they won’t be visible from the outside if you have sufficient garden lighting.
That makes you less vulnerable in relation to the people outside your house. While you can see everyone and everything that your garden lights illuminate, you won’t be visible to any of them. Thieves are well aware of this fact and will not venture into a property that is illuminated by garden lighting at night, much less peek into its windows. If the window is fitted with glass panes or screens, the reflection from the garden lighting will make looking inside difficult
If they really want to take a look, they will have to use flashlights to make out the inside of the house. That will make it easier for your guard dogs to know that they are there.
Enhancing the appearance of your garden
There are certain types of garden lights which not only glow beautifully at night but also make excellent decorative pieces in your garden during the day. For instance, you will find crystal butterflies studded with miniature solar bulbs. These are ideal decor to gladden your flowering shrubs at whatever time of day.
And then you have porcelain frogs, turtles, bunnies or fairies in various poses, sometimes perched on rock fountains. There may be posts growing out of their backs atop which are solar lights, or the lights may be built into them… on their backs or their tummies, or held in their hands.
The solar lights themselves come in many colors. However exacting your visual preferences are, there is a good chance you can get the type of night ambiance that you want for your garden.
You need only search for ‘animal garden solar lights’ in your favorite search engine and you can see how beautifully solar lights can vivify your garden day and night.
Manufacturers of garden lighting equipment are also making garden lights along simpler lines. If your garden decor is based on elementary shapes – the way the Japanese fashion theirs – you will fall in love with the simple designs of grass lamps. These are low enough to show in detail your delicate rock arrangements, your rock fountains and intricate bonsais at night. But you also have tall garden lamps, constructed in both regular and asymmetric shapes, for illuminating the entire lawn.
Improving the value of your property
Eventually, garden lighting is an investment of sorts, particularly if you have a prevalence of solar lights. By enhancing the appearance of your lawn and driveway, they give your grounds a welcoming ambiance that goes towards raising its value and appeal for buyers. So if you bought a second house as an investment – whether to sell it or rent it out – tastefully furnishing it with garden lighting is a comparatively inexpensive way of increasing your returns. Solar power is a free resource and solar bulbs need not be replaced for some time.

Garden Gargoyle Statues Give Eyes To Your Landscape
Gargoyle sculptures became a sort of craze in the fourteenth or fifteenth century with rich folks and churches competing for the biggest best gargoyles. They hired artist to design a combination of animal and human monstrous forms of gargoyles and the attraction grew past the practical use into Architectural status.
From the artist canvas spiked grotesque and disturbing yet fascinating gargoyle statues. Some say they are creatures of horror and yet others believe they bring luck and blessings. The artists goal was to not be humdrum but some of the extremes were hilariously bad. Some of the realism of the gargoyle statues where so fake that they became funny.
They do not breath, bleed or fly away but there is one certain element in every gargoyle statue that opens a doorway to our imagination. Gazing into the faces of these aliens you will find that every gargoyle statue has eyes. Some eyes are closed, some open, some hollow and some only one. This particular effect and fundamental truth hits all the right nerves in all of us that bring life to the gargoyle.
If you see them over entrances, in gardens or churches there is always an unspeakable fascination. If you dont see them have no fear because the gargoyle statue will see you there. It stocks you whether you know its there are not. Something which seems to be a monster was born not of a living creature but of a building.
Gargoyles are not living creatures but have made buildings and landscapes bring life to sculpture. Our line of garden gargoyle statues is unsurpassed and all will visually impact your landscaping by taking on a life of their own. During the cold winter months when all your plants have died your gargoyle statue will retain its sense of occupancy and keep your garden alive and youthful.
Garden Furniture, Some Things To Consider
Garden furniture, for some reason, doesn’t seem to get the same care and attention that other furniture gets. People will spend hours and hours looking at various pieces of furniture for the inside of their house, often spending a lot of money in the process. But when it comes to furniture for outside of the home, it’s much rarer for people to spend the same kind of care and attention in deciding what they’re going to buy.
This is a kind of a shame, because if anything, you should probably put a little more care into choosing your garden furniture than any other kind. You’ll want your garden furniture to look nice and be comfortable, just like any other piece of furniture that you might be buying, but you also have the additional considerations that come with having furniture that is going to be exposed to the elements.
Not to mention that your garden furniture has a very good chance, depending on the layout of your home, of being something that people see quite a bit, so you don’t want to just get the cheapest thing at the store and be done with it.
In fact, there are at least five things that you’re going to want to consider when you’re looking at buying garden furniture:
Use – Simply put, not everyone uses their outdoor furniture the same way. If, for instance, you like to fire up the grill and have people over to enjoy the food, you’re going to need different furniture than a retired couple who just want to be able to watch the sunset.
So the first thing you should look at it is what you’re going to be doing with the furniture. It’s probably a good idea to buy more than you need, if you think you might want to use your garden furniture for more than what you’re currently picturing.
Weather – Garden furniture also needs to be appropriate for the kind of weather you’re likely to get. This doesn’t really matter as much for use, although you do want get something that will be able to hold up under the demands you’re putting on it.
If you get freezing weather, you need to pick furniture that will stand up to it. On the other hand, if you get cold and damp for most of the year, cast iron furniture is probably a bad idea, unless you’re particularly fond of rust.
Style – Of course, you want something that looks good, and what looks good is going to depend entirely on what you like. That said, you’ll probably be happiest if you try to match the style of garden furniture to the style of your house and your lawn. It might not be a bad idea to take pictures of the various pieces of furniture you’re considering and then look at it again while looking at your home so that you get a real feel for how it will look.
Material – There are three basic materials that most garden furniture is going to be constructed out of: wood, plastic and metal.
Plastic or resin is probably the most common, because it’s cheap and light. The quality can range from terrible, as in those cheap outdoor chairs that cost next to nothing, to excellent, for some of the high products that are difficult to tell from actual wood.
Wood tends to look better, but it’s considerably more expensive and, if not properly treated and treated properly, can be a lot less durable than the artificial materials. This kind of furniture tends to be the nicest to look at, but it can be pricey.
The most common kind of metal garden furniture is cast iron, which has the advantage of being more or less indestructible, but is expensive, heavy and not to everyone’s taste. There are also aluminum constructed items, but they tend to not to be as popular.
What materials you’ll want is going to be related to the other considerations. Basically, you need to look at use, weather and style and see what kind of furniture is going to give you what you want, based on what is most important to you.
Price – Like materials, this is going to depend on what you’re looking for overall. If you don’t have unlimited money, and this is most of us, the best idea is to start with price and then decide where everything else fits within that framework. This will save you a lot of frustration down the line and make the whole buying experience a lot more pleasant.
