Carbon Dioxide Not The Cause Of Global Warming

A lot of people have watched the Inconvenient truth by “ex next president” Al Gore. There certanily are some facts and photos that make you think, but is global warming really happening the way that Gore describes it ? There have been many theories against the usual theory that is leaning on the green house. The theories talk about solar activity and that carbon dioxide is acctualy rising and falling due to temperatures happening 800 years before. The product that came out of counter theories is The Great Global Warming Swindle a movie that is worth watching, just to see what people that don’t agree with Al Gore think about the movie.

One of the contradictions that is being made in movie is that the usual global warming theory predicts higher increasing of the temperature in the troposphere than on the ground, but the researches (satellite and weather balloon ) have shown that this claim is wrong. As mentioned before one of the strongest theory that is proven with graphs is that increases of carbon dioxide are lagged behind the temperature for about 800 years. That means that high percentage of carbon dioxide in the air is acctualy the consequence of high temperatures in 13th century. In the documentary the scientists are also saying that Carbon dioxide only represents 0.054% of all the gasses in the atmosphere and that humans are only responsible for 1% of those 0.054%, which can’t be enough for global warming. A very strong claim is also that Solar activity is currently at a very high level, and that Solar activity has a big impact on temperature changes, they even backup this saying with a scientist that has earned a lot of money betting on the weather.

There are many theoris that talk for and against global warming. Even though global warming might not be caused by carbon dioxide emissions we should still take care of a super high pollution and switch to natural resources.

Carbon Dioxide Is Not the Reason behind Global Warming

Writer: Darren Ng Research Paper Global Warming Crisis Global warming is one, if not the most discussed concerns of our contemporary society. In fact, it has engendered protracted debates between and among our top scientists, whose differing theories seek to unravel not only the real causes but also certain viable solutions which can be framed to address it. If only to cite, two schools of thought emerge from these heated discussions. On the one side of the spectrum, one group of scientist-thinkers claims that the rapid increase of carbon dioxide emission, owing much from the exponential growth of industries of the post war era, is the chief cause of the present global warming crisis. By contrast, another group that which strongly disagrees with the aforesaid stance maintains that global warming is not really attributable to an increased carbon dioxide emission as it is to due to the inevitability of the earths natural processes of cyclic heating and cooling within a given span of time. Thus, while it is agreed that the globe is in fact warming, I believe carbon dioxide is not the underlying reason behind it. This paper makes a case for the necessity of continuing studies as regards to the matter, as I am more inclined to believe that, based on my readings, carbon dioxide emission does not constitute the real cause of global warming, if by cause we take to mean that the increased production of carbon dioxide acts as the sufficient explanation of global warming, let alone its sole mitigating factor. The stance which this paper takes is a somewhat critical to the more popular understanding of global warming crisis; i.e. this paper is specifically critical to Al Gore, along with some 2,500 scientist who work at the IPCC (The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) and roughly about 86% of American citizens, who summarily hold that global warming is a problem brought about by human doing. This paper seeks to underscore the incurable ambiguities which mark the contention that global warming is entirely due to the increased incidence of greenhouse concentrations, which in itself is nothing but the consequential result of the perceived increase of carbon dioxide emissions. Carbon Dioxide Emission as Causative Ingredient to Global Warming? As previously mentioned, there are many scientists who claim that the current state of the industrial societies is a key determining factor that aggravates the noticeable increase of world atmospheric and marine temperatures. Crucial to this is to cite that world economies heavy dependence on fossil fuels, which in turn leads to excessive carbon dioxide emission, is responsible for the increased incidence of greenhouse effect being experienced the world over. For instance, Homer-Dixon, the author of the book The upside of Down: Catastrophe, Creativity, and the Renewal of Civilization he cites that concentration of greenhouse gases are increasing fast and the earth is getting hotter (Homer-Dixon 162). And it, in fact, is not hard to establish that there is a direct correlation existing between the increasing world temperature and the equally rapid increase of carbon dioxide emission recorded in as many years. One only needs to show that many studies, such as the one published by the Environmental Protection Agency, rely on arguing the fact that carbon dioxide discharge and the worlds atmospheric temperatures have risen by over 35% since the rise of Industrialization so to make a convenient conclusion that it is the primary cause of global warming(Carbon Dioxide, 2008). The EPAs argument is relevant in the discussion since it brings into the fore the tendency of many organizations to take carbon dioxide and global warming under the lenses of cause-effect model. In many respects, this is likewise the crux of the arguments espoused by the Kyoto Protocol an international environmental accord sanctioned by the United Nations, aimed at decreasing world production of greenhouse gases. According to the agreement, world governments acceding to such an accord must ensure that steps are undertaken to cut their respective carbon dioxide emissions below the range which can be devastating to nature (Kyoto Protocol). This, moreover, is also the assumption of those who are advocating the use of nuclear power as an alternative to fossil fuels. According to Max Schulz who is the writer of the article Nuclear Power, explains that the world needs to discover viable sources of energy through clean technology without pollution or greenhouse gas emissions (Schulz 90). Herein, it would be necessary to note that the reasoned premise of the Kyoto Protocol and arguments for nuclear power rests on the plain assumption that there exists a direct cause-and-effect correlation between carbon dioxide production and rapid increase of world atmospheric temperatures. Which is why, these arguments tend to regard global warming as anthropogenic in essence i.e., it is a phenomenon brought about by human doing. That having said, there are still reasons to think that no one can really stop the continued warming of the world. Not even the Kyoto Protocol an already massive initiative, to say the least, taken by humanity to address the problem dares to dream of averting the rise of world temperatures all together. As indeed, our optimum technologies nowadays have yet to frame adequate solutions to curb the rate of global warming. If this perceived helplessness in respect to global warming speaks of anything about our present situation, it merely proves that there is more into the problem than merely attributing it to human doing. This is because if global warming is really a problem constituted by human fault, then it is with human initiatives that such problem can and must be remedied. Apparently however, human progress cannot be blamed for the recent rising trends of global temperatures. Global Warming as the Earths Natural Way of Being

While it may be easy to establish the correlation between the amounts of carbon dioxide emitted in the last 50 years and the rise of world temperatures, it is nevertheless difficult to construe a necessary cause-and-effect connection between them. For say that carbon dioxide alone is the sufficient explanation to global warming means that we are reducing the problem into a single cause; and this must not be so. In Homer-Dixons book he cites a quote from Michel Jarraud who is the secretary general of the United Nations World Meteorological Organization. Michael Jarraud contends, You cannot attribute (global warming) to a single cause. Its about the very complex interaction between all the elements that make up the very complex machine that is the EarthBut global warming is likely to lead to more frequent extraordinary events and greater intensity of these events (Homer-Dixon 162). In the first place, global warming should be seen as a natural process or occurrence, or a phenomenon not generated by human activities. In fact, global warming happens periodically; as this was proven by Petr Chylek who is the Professor of Physics and Atmospheric Science. For instance, in his report, he maintains that during the 1920s, Greenlands temperature was recorded higher than it was during many instances 2005. With such telling evidence, he concludes that, the Greenland warming of 1920 to 1930 demonstrates that a high concentration of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases is not a necessary condition for period of warming to arise (Chylek). The same may be said of the trend which shows that during the period of 1900-1940, the temperatures were rising even when industrialization was not as massive compare to what we have now. After this era, the Post-War economic boom was to commence. Ironically, this was the period when the temperature dropped and did not begin to rise until four decades later. Besides, one must also note with care that the past 150 years have seen a very minute increase in world temperature only half a degree Celsius. If with the massive production of carbon dioxide the rate of world temperature increase does not appear to be so drastic, then it is evident that carbon dioxide is not the sole cause of global warming. Secondly, where carbon dioxide is in question, it is certainly insightful to note that human activities do not really generate as much carbon dioxide emission as does nature itself, when it produces the carbon dioxide in manner being more significant, if not undeniably massive. This is certainly an interesting angle to look at; for while we agree to a certain respect that carbon dioxide is a heat-generating compound in the atmosphere, it nevertheless is just one of the many gaseous compounds comprising greenhouse gases. As such, carbon dioxide comprises a meager 0.97% of the total greenhouse gasses present in the air (USA TODAY). Moreover, human activities are not to sole progenitor of carbon dioxide. The earths land surface, it must be noted, emits carbon dioxide as well. For instance, when a volcanic eruption occurs, the earth produces more carbon dioxide than the amount produced by industrial factories around the world, and certainly more than the amount of the same emitted by human beings. This is to speak only of the earths terrestrial surface, which is roughly about 30% of the worlds surface area. The largest emitter of carbon dioxide is by the larger marine surface, as it makes up the remaining 70% of our worlds geographical composition. Thus, humanity must not be the one to be blamed for the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere right now. Besides, on account of the fact that carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere is insignificant, there is a truth in saying that carbon is not the sole reason that explains global warming. Thirdly, not only must people start to realize that global warming is a phenomenon that happens on a natural basis, they too must take into careful account the significant role which solar radiation plays in ushering the world into another phase of warmer temperatures. In other words, the warming of the earth is in fact believed to be caused by the sun. This is exactly the contention leveled by Jeffrey Gordon in his book called Solar Energy: The State of the Art. He contends that solar energy acts as the major contributor to the warming of the earth. This is because he believes that urban temperature and the sky view manifest a direct correlation (Gordon 14). To briefly explain, Gordon believes that cloud formation in the sky is influenced by the amount of solar radiation being emitted by the sun. Ordinarily, we speak of cloud formation as a phenomenon explicable by the rate of evaporation and condensation of water vapor transpiring in the earths atmosphere (The World Book Encyclopedia 111). But, Gordon believes that cosmic rays are the actual reason behind the formation of clouds i.e., sun rays play a role in the formation of clouds. Therefore, if clouds are generated by cosmic rays, and that they absorb and reflect solar radiation, which in turn make the earths surface cool or warm according to the cloud density, then it is with good reasons to claim that global warming is indeed caused by natural processes and not by human doing. Still, there is a need to further underscore the fact that many doomsday prophecies in respect to the true state of the earth appear to be patently exaggerated, if not wholly unfounded as well. A glaring example would be to cite how scientists from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change came up with analyses and reports accentuating the correlation between the earths temperatures on the one hand and the levels of carbon dioxide on the other hand. This, we might as well be reminded, is in itself an indication of correlation but not of necessary connection, as argued hereinabove. Unfortunately, these scientists argued that, using the temperature-carbon dioxide correlation, the warming globe would be a precursor to a significant rise in sea levels within the next one hundred years. And by further claiming that sea levels are expected to rise at least twenty feet above the present level, these scientist warn of extensive flooding, reduction of earths land surface, and all sorts of natural disasters. We need to point out, however, that this claim is at the very least preposterous. This is for the plain reason that, according to the recent studies shown in a BBC documentary called The Global Warming Swindle, it would take another 1000 years to have our sea level to rise dramatically by twenty feet, or less (Scott). Hardly over, another example pertinent to some scientists tendency to proffer unfounded studies comes through research by Thomas Knutson of the NOAAs Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory. According to him, a greenhouse gas-induced warming may lead to a gradually increasing risk in the occurrence of highly destructive category-5 storms (Knutson 16). Another scientist from the IPCC agrees with Knutson, and even further researched on this case and concluded that we are on the way to another ice age. Once again, the extremities palpable in their conclusions make their claims highly dubitable. At the very least, we need to inquire why scientists arrive at differing conclusions i.e., one speaks of catastrophic hurricanes, yet another prophesies a looming ice-age using the same climate model as evidence. We have reasons to believe that these scientists have deliberately pushed their interpretation beyond what their evidences imply. And reason behind this, we might as well surmise, lies in the need to attract the public attention at the expense of portraying the truth of the matter regarding the state of our nature. Providing evidence for this case, the authors J. Timmons Roberts and Bradley C. Parks in their book, A Climate of Injustice: Global Inequality, North-South Politics, and Climate Policy would most likely support my case. Roberts and Parks cite that, Though it would be impossible to say that any single hurricane was caused by global warming, the increase in air and water temperatures has undoubtedly increased the evaporation and energy in the climate system. This phrase is so significant because it disproves that global warming is the trigger towards storms. It also shows that the increasing carbon dioxide has no correlation towards rising temperature, inasmuch as it is mainly evaporation and energy that affect climate. Finally, it is imperative to note that many scientists tendency to lopsidedly zero in on construing doomsday leaves no room for appreciating the positive ramifications of global warming. During the course of my research, I realized that there are those who say that a warmer globe does not necessarily spell doom for humanity. On the contrary, it may even be beneficial for us. Bruce E. Johansen in his book The Global Warming: Desk Reference for instance contends, a slight rise in temperatures and carbon dioxide levels would stimulate the growth of many plants (Johansen 105). This is because the plants will more largely absorb carbon dioxide when there is more of it. Moreover, this proves that the earths natural cycle is on course, and that there is no need to unnecessarily incite panic from among the greater public. The earth will learn and adapt to climate changes as much as humans, and every other animal, would. With the evidence from many studies from authors such as John Christian, Roy Spencer and many listed above, I confidently believe that carbon dioxide is not the reason behind global warming. Maybe our media is so influenced by our political leaders today that many of us follow behind them into believing that carbon dioxide is causing the warming of the earth. Why do they want us to believe this? My theory is when politics wants to be involved in any issue; their main concern is to search for benefits. So what is the solution behind global warming? There may seem like there is no solution but ultimately the solution is for the selfish to become unselfish for the selfish reason. If carbon dioxide is the real cause of global warming, our governments should use more of their money to create better ways of transportation rather than gain income from the warming. Transportation infrastructure includes more biking routes, bus stops, underground trains etc. This is proven to work as European countries implement it into their infrastructure. Thus, if global warming is a natural cycle, then we cannot do anything but to use more of the governments income to invest in other ways of living as global warming comes closer each day. By way of conclusion, I wish to end with a thought which affirms the central roadmap and chief contention of this paper i.e., the debate about global warming cannot be laid to rest, so long as the entire truth about the matter is not fully unraveled. Right now, the world is fed with much-publicized but too-often-pessimistic views about the ill-effects of global warming. And much too often, these supposed scientific studies pin the blame on human beings and their otherwise magnificent activities and achievements. This, I believe, is rather unfair. In the discussions that were developed, it was seen that there is more into global warming than merely attributing it to carbon dioxide emissions of the last few decades, and the increased concentration of greenhouse gasses observed in the present times. In the final analysis, we have to admit that the earths climate has always been changing. And as we have been through cold and warm periods, we must appreciate the fact that nearly all living species have found, in ways more than one, their respective ways of surviving. Certainly, the debate is far from being over.

Carbon Based Global Warming Is A Fraud! The Ruse At

Carbon Based Global Warming Is A Fraud! The Ruse At The Muse Exposed!

Not so long ago,I went to the London museum and look what I found. What you can see in the picture on the wall behind me is an illustration of how the average daily temperature of a given region of our planet has varied greatly over different time periods. Another one of many documented examples can be found in a reference to 11th century England during the reign of King Harold. It refers to a battle the King’s soldiers had against an army of invading Norwegian soldiers. Because the weather was so hot (and this medieval period has been well-documented for high temperatures), the Norwegian soldiers lost the battle at Stamford Bridge, London, because they did not wear their armoury. -They had decided it was too hot to wear…

What I’m about to say isn’t me being outspoken or self-opinionated. It is one of those ‘Now Get This’ statements. I’m talking about global warming and here is my statement: For those of you who don’t know or are unaware, the current global warming situation is NOT carbon based. Okay, the planet is warming. So is the rest of the solar system, because global warming is due to a change in the sun’s solar activity. All the historical data is there to show how fluctuations in temperature on our planet have happened, regardless of CO2 production, because of the ebb and flow of the sun’s solar activity cycles throughout the years. The polar ice caps on Mars are melting and Jupiter is also affected by a rise in temperature. ‘Nobody producing greenhouses gases out there, well, as far as I know! For example, in the 1950′s, the post World War 2 boom in production industry. According to the carbon based theory, this should have produced global warming, but it didn’t because, like I’ve said, the current rising temperature of our planet is due to the sun’s solar activity. A great video that exposes the truth about global warming can be seen on Google, ‘The Great Global Warming Swindle.’ -An absolute must see. There are other good websites dedicated to real science showing how the carbon based global warming theory cannot be. I recently read in a newspaper how one politician proposed a complicated way of imposing a levy for carbon consuming. The lunacy goes on and on, thank goodness it was rejected. The elite that rule this planet want you to believe in carbon based global warming so that they can introduce con schemes like ‘carbon taxes’ for transport in order to profiteer and control you. Don’t be fooled by this ruse. I suggest you do your own research and I’m quite confident you will come to the same conclusion as me.

Can The Acai Berry Save The Planet From Global Warming

Can The Acai Berry Save The Planet From Global Warming

Check the article listings on the Acai Berry and Acai Berry products. Title after title of articles espousing the health benefits and nutritional value of this amazing new berry thats gathered in the Amazon rain forest in Brazil. So why did it take so long for such a wonderful fruit to finally make its way to market?

The Acai Berry Grows In the Lungs Of the Planet

The reason that the acai berry is so new to the consumer market is that for some years now efforts have been on to find renewable sources of income in the rain forests of the planet. You see, the planets rain forests are essentially its lungs.

Western Demand For Hardwoods and Global Warming

For generations, indigenous peoples have made their livings as hunters, gatherers and simple traders of natural products that could be found in these rain forests. However; beginning in the early part of the 1900s western societies began use more exotic hardwoods in their homes.

Who Will Guard and Protect the Rain Forests?

These indigenous peoples in return began to abandon their traditional lifestyles to take on more lucrative jobs in the hardwood timber industry. The result is that the rain forests were being left unprotected, cut down and global warming was increased.

The Acai Berry Brings Native Protectors Back To The Forest

Gathering the Acai Berry is one of the new ways that have been developed where by native peoples can return to protecting and living off the rain forest and not have to starve while doing it. By gathering and selling the Acai Berries the trees stay standing and they earn a good income.

Working To Come Up With Viable Solutions To Global Warming

Governments of Western countries have learned that the Amazon rain forest is just too big and wild to police or buy up. Thus, the only chance it has of being protected is to entice the native peoples who live there to engage in renewable economic activities like gathering Acai Berries. Activities that encourage them to also value, watch over and protect the rain forests of the planet from illegal logging and strip mining activities.

Best Way To Solve Problems Of Global Warming

Construction has begun in Southern California on two solar thermal plants for Pacific Gas and Electric, and Southern California Edison, that will be providing 2.3 gigawats of solar thermal power. By itself, the Southern California Edison deal is the worlds largest solar energy deal.

The plants being built are bigger, but will be more cost effective to build than most other new plants. These kind of solar thermal plants are cheaper to build than coal plants, cheaper than gas plants, and theyre building them a lot faster.

As Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an environmental advocate for the past 25 years, has said, Once the plants are up and running, the energy is free forever. We wont have to go to Saudi Arabia and drill holes in the ground, then pump the oil up, and then refine it, and then ship it across the Atlantic with a military escort, and get in periodic wars in Mesopotamia and other places, and then have to distribute the oil across the country.

The electrons are hitting our country for free… coming down from the Sun for free, every day. If we build these plants to pick up the electrons, and the infrastructure to deliver them, we can put them into our lines… And if we are to build this out across the country, we can provide 100% of the energy needs in this country, in conjunction with other clean power sources, for about 750 billion dollars.

Kennedy makes the point that 750 billion is less than the amount of dollars we export to purchase foreign oil each and every year. “Taxpayers involuntarily gave 700 billion dollars to Wall Street, and everybody believes it will take generations to pay back. But actually, it will only take just one year, without our financial expenditure for foreign oil.”

What we need to make this work is a straightforward market place. Thats what Americans demand. We need an open marketplace that does what a market is supposed to do, which is to reward good behavior, which is efficiency, and punish bad behavior, which is inefficiency and waste.

Today we have a market that is rigged to favor the dirtiest, filthiest, most poisonous, most expensive fuels from hell. We need to design a marketplace that rewards the clean, cheap, fuels from heaven. We can do this very quickly. For instance, in 1979 America started a national grid, a national backbone for the internet. In 1980, there were fewer than 500 personal computers in this country and IBM was saying it was a dead end technology. Well now, every American has a PC, because we had a marketplace. Look at the effect that has had on the cost of information. It has plummeted to almost nothing. That same thing will happen with the cost of electrons if we follow through and build a national grid for electricity in this country.

Heres another example, in 1996, President Clinton signed the Telecommunications Act which opened up the telecommunications grid and spawned a national, and worldwide telecommunications revolution. Thats why we have an Ipod. Today there are companies that can provide unlimited long distance and local calling for $18 a year. Thats what is going to happen to the cost of energy, if we build a national marketplace that operates in a straightforward manner.

We need to make sure that the market rules are aligned with our national interests, and with the global interest of saving our planet. We need to make sure that our utility companies can make money by getting their consumers to conserve energy, and that their profits are not dependent upon them selling as much energy as possible. And then we need to open up the grid so that everyone can get on it. If you have a solar panel on your roof, and youre not home for one part of the day, and your house is generating more energy than it’s using, you ought to be able to sell that energy back to the grid and get market rates for it. But there is no state where you can do that today. Thirty six states will buy it back from you, but all of them limit how much, and none of them will give you the market rate.

If we follow through with these fundamentals, we will make every American into an energy entrepreneur, every home into a power plant, and we can power this country from American initiative and entrepreneurship of energy, rather than Saudi oil.

Beat The Heat…beat Global Warming…with Ceiling Fans

Ceiling fans and air-conditioners have been the main cooling equipment for decades. First came the fans and then the air conditioners. Air conditioners dominated the cooling equipment sector but it should not be promoted due to the enormous consumption of electricity and supporting the causes of emission of greenhouse gases.

Almost one-sixth of U.S. Electricity is consumed by the air conditioners per year. During peak periods in scorching summers this figure raise to 40%. The ongoing trend of rising global temperatures and intense heat waves can increase the consumption further.

The rapidly increasing energy demand in U.S. is creating more environmental pressure. Almost 30% of the country’s greenhouse gases & 70% of the acid rain is caused by the electricity generation from fossil fuels. Half of the US energy is produced from coal, the dirtiest fossil fuel. The power plants generating electricity from coal produce two-third of sulfur oxide emissions; one-third of nitrogen oxide, main component of acid rain and smog; one-third of the country’s mercury emissions, which settle in waterways and contaminate the food chain; and one-third of carbon dioxide emissions, the primary global warming reason.

If comparing the figures given in previous two paragraphs, one can easily estimate that how-much the use of air-conditioners is responsible for global warming.

Just reverse are the ceiling fans, not only a quiet, elegant and inexpensive means but an excellent energy savers. A ceiling fan at maximum speed uses 50 to 75 watts per day, as much as an incandescent bulb, that is one-tenth as much as a medium size air conditioner. Running 12 hours a day cost almost $1.50 a month, much less compared to $25 for an air conditioner.

Also the ceiling fans work on a different principle. Ceiling fans, one of the popular electric fans, cool by creating light breezes that evaporate moisture from the skin. On the other hand air conditioners consume huge amounts of energy to push the heat from indoor air and blow it outside. The circulating air generated by ceiling fans feels 9 degree cooler. Combined with other energy efficient means, ceiling fans can yield even greater savings.

The electricity generated for the average household in US expel 13,000 pounds of carbon dioxide, 77 pounds of sulfur dioxide, and 47 pounds of nitrogen oxide into the atmosphere each year. Isn’t this our duty to do our bit to save our environment? And that too without sacrificing comfort, and saving some dollars.

Authentic Tornado Video Wakeup Call On Global Warming!

Each day, we hear about strange meteorological phenomenon happening in various parts of the Globe. The Internet presents access to specialized websites presenting videos on climate changes and different weather anomalies. If you are curious about how the planet is changing, then you should definitely check some of them out.

A tornado video is one of the most realistic and impressive videos available online at the moment. We all know what incredible damage the tornados can cause when they have big proportions. People have been writing books, conceiving scripts for movies, creating different devices, etc, all about and for tornadoes. With an intensity that can easily tear apart even an entire house as you can see for yourself in videos posted online tornadoes, these terrible weather anomalies are a menace for the human kind each time they occur.

Every season, we see weather anomalies all over the world, but each year the conclusions show that on average these anomalies are more or less the same that we have seen in this past century. Of course, it is true that there are some regions that will get record setting events in high, as well as in low temperatures. And with the continuous and remarkable progress of science nowadays, there are more and more sensors that can be used to measure weather anomalies, so that we can see more of them.

There is nothing more frightening than seeing the forces of nature unleashed. Whether it is a tornado video, a hurricane video or some other similar video, you cannot stay indifferent after you have seen such things. As we all know, tornadoes are violent, rotating columns of air which are in contact with a cloud and with the surface of the earth. Tornadoes can have the power of swallowing people, as well-built as they may be, and even the power to destroy an entire house. So it is never a good idea to try to face up a tornado, unless you are trying to kill yourself.

Tornadoes come in many sizes. For example, when you see an F5 tornado video on the Internet, the “F” refers to the Fujita scale (F-Scale). This scale was invented in 1971, being used to analyze tornados according to the damage left behind (we are talking about properties and plant life, among others). F-5 category tornadoes have as a main characteristic a wind speed higher than 200 mph and they are famous for having caused incredible damage. An F5 category tornado can literally sweep away entire neighborhoods.

Being rare and much smaller in the past, tornadoes have become nowadays usual phenomenon in countries from all over the Globe, especially the United States. Seeing the way in which these weather anomalies are evolving, top scientists have come with a theory not so optimistic for the human kind. They have collected data that describe an Impending Destruction far more real than a scenario from the Bible.

Basically, what they have done is: they have set trends and even dates to show how the world’s civilizations can, and it is very possible to be, destroyed by an accelerated wind power as illustrated in the records of hurricanes and tornadoes that have hit the United States. The scientists have used the example of the United States, but similar accelerated weather trends have been observed to be happening in many countries from all over the Globe.

An Overview of the Effects of Global Warming

It is important to understand the significance that global warming has on not only our earth, but our daily lives as well. Its also important to understand the effects of global warming that our children and grandchildren will experience in the years to come if things continue the way they are now. First, its important to understand that Global Warming is also known as the Greenhouse effect. Instead of a plastic or glass shield, the earth has around it a series of atmospheric gases consisting mostly of nitrogen and oxygen molecules. The earth is about 60 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than it would be if it didnt have those atmospheric gases surrounding it. They keep the earth warm and protected from excess UV (Ultra Violet) rays from the sun. Once warmed, their molecules then radiate a portion of this heat energy back to earth, creating more warming on the surface of our planet. It is this radiation which causes atmospheric gases to move back to earth that scientists call the “greenhouse effect”.

Much debate in the last five years about the greenhouse effect has centered on interpreting temperature numbers generated at weather stations all over the world. The data from these thermometers are averaged and plotted in attempts to determine just how fast the earth has heated up since the measurements began. There is now no doubt the world is getting warmer. The thermometers show that the world is warmer now than at any time since the measurements started. The year 1990 was the hottest year in the last century. Together with 1991, the years of 1983, 1987, 1988, and 1989, have been measured to be the warmest 6 years in the last hundred years. 1991 was the second warmest year of the past century, perhaps due to the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo during that year. The ash from the volcano in the upper atmosphere blocks some sunlight to earth, and is expected to generate a temporary two or three year cooling effect. After that time, most ash particles will have settled back to earth, and most scientists expect to see the global warming trend continue. According to scientists, we can with “99% confidence conclude that current temperatures represent a real warming trend rather than a chance fluctuation over the 30-year period.” Most scientists agree that the planet’s temperature has risen 0.5 degrees Celsius since 1900, and will continue to increase at an increasing rate. The environment is responding to this warming. For instance, a study of mountain plants in the Alps (Europe), shows that some cold-loving plants are starting to move to higher and cooler altitudes. That is a possible response to increasing temperatures. The global effects of the greenhouse effect cannot be directly predicted simply because we do not have enough knowledge in the subject. However, we have been able to draw direct connections between certain natural phenomenon that supports the idea that something is changing. Global warming has great effect on crops and weather conditions around the world. The northern hemisphere contains more land area than the southern hemisphere, and conversely, a lower percentage of the world’s oceans. Since oceans absorb more heat than land areas, it is not surprising that most climate models predict faster heating over the northern hemisphere than the global average. In addition, models predict faster temperature increases at higher latitudes. If global warming trends continue, high temperatures everywhere in the US may reduce US agricultural productivity. Northern continental areas are projected to have drier summer soils, due in part to earlier snow melts in the spring, and hotter, more cloudless summers, causing extensive evaporation of ground moisture. In addition, if the inland areas of the northern hemisphere are expected to receive less moisture, then, lake and river levels will be lower. Some reports predict the level of the Great Lakes will drop between 2 and 8 feet. River flows in the western US may be very vulnerable to increase temperatures expected as result of the greenhouse effect. Al Gore’s Numerology; Will Global Warming Get Fixed

With the release of his documentary ‘An Inconvenient Truth’, former vice president Al Gore is the foremost spokesman for the issue of Global Warming. He truly symbolizes it for most Americans. As a believer in symbolic magic, I hold that the influences that affect the man, will affect his issues as well. So with that in mind, what does Numerology hold in store for Al Gore in the coming years?

As a Numerologist, if I want to see what’s in a person’s future I look at (3) main calculations: their Life Cycles, their Letters of Transit and their Personal Year. These values give me a suggestion of what could be in a person’s future; a general idea as it were.

===> His Life Cycle

Al Gore entered his second Life Cycle in 1982, and will enter his third and final life cycle in early 2009. Both of these cycles call for a good deal of hard work from him; lots of detail work on mundane down to earth matters. Gore must guard against getting depressed in these cycles.

This sounds like a dedicated public servant who will continue to work and battle for what he believes in. It may not speak well about a quick and easy solution to Global Warming, but it does show that there is little chance of Gore giving up and putting aside his work.

In March 2009, Al Gore enters his third Life Cycle, and unlike in his second Cycle, he has a specific life challenge: he must overcome a reluctance and fear of taking the leader’s role; of acting independently.

Since this will be after the next presidential election, could it indicate a role for Al Gore in the next administration? Or, might it call for him to speak out even more strongly against a government which will act against his beliefs?

===> His Transit Letters

Transit letters are calculated from a person’s full birth name and are the most detailed predictor of events unique to an individual. Al Gore, being born a Jr., has the unique trait of almost always having a transit letter ‘R’ acting on him. In fact, since he has an ‘R’ in each of his names, he almost always is under the influence of a ‘RR’ transit letter.

His current Transit letters are ‘RRGR’. They began on his birthday in 2005, and end on his birthday in March 2008.

His transit letters of ‘RRR’ which I treat as double ‘R’ mark a time of ending relationships and frustrating delays in his life. In fact the double ‘R’ will continue for Gore for some years to come. I would say this is a clear indication that Al Gore’s call for action on fixing Global Warming will see many delays through the next few years. I look for very little to be accomplished on this front.

His transit letter of ‘G’ marks a time when he will be secretive about his affairs, but it will also be a good period for Gore financially. I would venture to say that the cause of Global Warming will raise a great deal of money in the next (2) years. People will respond with dollars, even if the path to change will be slow.

Finally, in March 2008, Gore will gain a Transit letter ‘J’ for the last year of his old Life Cycle. The ‘J’ marks some major change in his life. He will experience indecision and his finances will take a major upswing in 2008. Could this represent a call to action by the Democratic Party either as a candidate, or behind the scenes is some fashion?

===> His Personal Year
2006 is a personal year (6) for Al Gore. This is a year when his home life and various task make unusually large demands on his time. Gore will assume new task more easily than he usually does. Duties and obligations will be handled successfully. Also, his creative endeavors, such as his book / documentary are favored at this time.

This speaks well for the success of ‘An Inconvenient Truth.’ It appears that that movie will get the public to respond and bring real attention to the problem of Global Warming.

In summation, I would predict success for Al Gore’s message about Global Warming reaching America as a whole, but a long and frustrating battle to get our Nation to change it’s spots and act to combat the problem. Also, I would predict that Gore will have some strong role in the 2008 presidential election, if not as a candidate, as a surrogate for the Democratic party. He has some definite task that he will be called on to take up in March 2009, though what it is I could not guess.

A-z Of Global Warming- Fossil Fuels

This article is taken from The A-Z of Global Warming and discusses fossil fuels. The generation of electricity from burning carbon rich coal has a greater impact on the atmosphere than any other single human activity. In 2003 the power industry created 44.5% of all manmade carbon dioxide (CO2) according to the World Resources Institute, Climate Analysis Indicators Tool (CAIT). If one looks at emissions of carbon dioxide alone (ignoring all other greenhouse gases), then for the year 2000, the figure is just under 33%, and the latest figure available from 2003, as mentioned above shows an increase for this sector to 44.5%. The latest figure however excludes CO2 from land use change.

So what are fossil fuels, and how are they formed? Well fossil fuels form deep in the earth’s crust over millions of years from enormous pressure and heat which converts dead plant and animal matter into hydrocarbons in the form of coal, oil or natural gas, which can then be dug up and burnt as fuel.

As these fossil fuels have formed over millions of years they are no longer considered to be part of the natural carbon cycle as they have effectively been “locked up” within the earth’s crust and rocks etc.

In 2005 alone some 28 billion tonnes of CO2 was released into the atmosphere, from burning fossil fuels, which is equivalent to around 800 tonnes a second!

Out of all the fossil fuels the worst culprit is coal, which is used as the fuel in coal fired electricity power stations for the production of electricity. Generating electricity through carbon rich coal however has a greater impact on the atmosphere than any other single human activity.

The power industry creates over twice the amount of CO2 as is produced by the transport sector.

Basically electricity generation hasn’t changed much from the 19th century with large power plants burning fossil fuels for the creation of electricity, and this model looks set to continue for some time to come.

Within the rapidly expanding economies of India and China, coal fired electricity plants will dramatically increase. In fact China, the USA and India are the top three producers in the world.

Apart from carbon dioxide, burning coal produces a host of other chemicals, such as sulphur dioxide, which causes acid rain, Nitrous oxide and other heavy metals.

What makes matters worse is that coal is the world’s most widely available fossil fuel and there is around 200 years of coal left, if it is used at its current rate. This will be pretty academic however as according to the latest report out by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climatic Change, if the burning of fossil fuels continue unchanged, the Earth could warm by as much as 6 degrees Celsius (10.8 F) by 2100. This would mean almost certain extinction of most of life on the earth.

One only has to look at pictures from recent news stories showing industrial cities in these developing countries to see the pollution and clouds of smog hanging over the cities and blocking out the sunlight.

It is estimated that by the year 2030, 55% of all power stations built in the Asia pacific region will be coal fired.

The transport sector in 2000 accounted for around 14% of greenhouse gas emissions, or 20% of CO2 alone (ignoring other greenhouse gases), in 2003. The majority of these emissions are from road transport, with aviation second, followed by shipping and rail last. Emissions from the aviation sector are expected to grow the quickest however.

So whilst developed and especially developing nations continue to build power stations to gobble up the Earth’s supply of fossil fuels, serious harm is being done to the atmosphere which will continue to elevate global temperatures as higher CO2 levels add to the greenhouse effect.

There are in fact enough fossil fuels left to take the world to levels of CO2 concentrations of around 750ppm and above, (around 330 ppm more than present) which would elevate temperatures to such an extent that it would be catastrophic for all of Earth’s inhabitants. CO2 as a result of burning fossil fuels is only one of the greenhouse gases, which is contributing to the warming of the atmosphere. The next article we will look at Earth’s greenhouse gases, which are essential to life on Earth, but which are now warming the planet as their levels steadily increase.
